Intro Hook Scripter
You have 10 seconds to keep a viewer. These proven templates help you draft the perfect "Hook" to skyrocket your Average View Duration (AVD).
Pro Tip: Don't introduce yourself in the first 10 seconds. The viewer cares about the value, not your name (yet).
Select a hook type to generate your script.
The "First 30 Seconds" Rule
YouTube Analytics shows a clear drop in almost every video during the first 30 seconds. This is where viewers decide if they trust you or if they should keep scrolling.
The goal is to provide immediate value or create an "Open Loop" that can only be closed by watching the rest of the video.
Hook Scripting FAQs
Lead with your name?
NO. Unless you're a celebrity, they don't care yet. Save "Hi, I'm [Name]" for after the hook or mid-roll.
Ideal Hook Length?
Aim for 8–15 seconds. If you can't state the premise and create tension in 15s, you're rambling.
